Chenay Jordan

Chenay Jordan

Chenay Jordan-McDowell grew up in Tucson, Arizona riding and showing Paint horses.  During her AJPHA show career Chenay accumulated over 550 points on her mounts, earned multiple superiors, a Youth Versatility award and captured the number 11 spot on the 1998 AJPHA Youth Top Twenty with Painted Mesa (Snickers.)  Chenay also held multiple leadership positions on the regional and national level, and had the esteemed honor of being named the 1998 AJPHA Youth Member of the Year.

Her other passion, writing, led her to pursue English and Creative Writing B.A.’s at the University of Arizona which she completed in 2006.  Currently Chenay lives in Yucaipa, California with her husband, Jeff, her Rottweiler Kaya, and two cats.  While pursuing writing as a full-time career, Chenay assists nationally renowned Reining and Cutting trainer, Jim Alderson part-time.  She still owns Snickers and rides him nearly everyday.  She hopes one day to show again at recognized APHA shows as an Amateur.
